Esra Oz is a researcher and a member of Quality of Life Lab at Center for Informatics at University of Geneva (CUI, Switzerland). She holds a Ph.D. in Decision Science, complemented by a background in industrial engineering and further training at Harvard Business School. Esra began her career in the electronics industry, focusing on R&D of engineering systems involving advanced signal/data processing. Over time, she has combined academic inquiry with professional practice, designing and deploying data-driven solutions and digital products in domains such as data processing, decision making, advanced analytics, and AI. Her work has scaled globally, supporting digital platforms and applications that serve hundreds of thousands of users in more than 80 countries. A consistent thread in her research and applied projects is the use of behavioral modeling to encourage healthier choices, more informed financial decision-making, and improved user engagement. Her academic interests are grounded in a passion for understanding and fostering behavioral change through human-centered design as a pathway to enhance both personal well-being and the societal good. Alongside her research, Esra contributes to the global design community. She holds a leadership role at Interaction Design Foundation (IxDF). She is actively engaged in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, serving as a mentor with MassChallenge Switzerland and Tenity (formerly F10), and previously with KWORKS – Koç University Entrepreneurship Research Center. She is a member of the Society for Judgment and Decision Making (SJDM) and IEEE Computer Society.
